Love O2O (微微一笑很倾城, Just One Smile is Very Alluring) Chapter 3: Getting Married Again
Wei Wei is between a rock and a hard place. Running away isn't very heroine-like but standing here makes her look like a bandit. Hence, Wei Wei draws upon her resourcefulness, hitches up her pants, and sits down.
Sitting down in Meng You Jian Hu can be for resting, be for meditation to build power, or be for what WeiWei is doing now - sitting down to sell wares.
When Wei Wei displays the store name, "Cheap wares for sale", the surrounding characters can't help but all send a WTF emoji. Wei Wei quickly types a message: "Take a look! Expert medicine master's newly made medicine! 20% off!"
When this appears, gamers that originally came to see a showdown immediately becomes excited about this news.
She must be joking! Expert-leveled medicine master's medicines are not available in NPC shops. Only by defeating monsters can a few medicines be obtained. This is a high-demand, low-supply item. Although the server has many expert medicine masters, they only make medicines for their own guild. Rarely does one sell the medicines they make. All of a sudden there's cheap, expert-leveled medicines! The gamers on Zhu Que Bridge are abuzz with excitement and surge forward. In a blink of an eye, the heroine's slight frame is submerged in the crowd.
The marriage sedan came and rapidly left.
Who knows what happened to the marriage sedan that before was slowly meandering along. Once it reached reached Zhu Que bridge, it suddenly gained speed. In a flash, it disappeared from the end of the bridge.
WeiWei's medicine was also sold-out in a short amount of time. The gamers see nothing is going to happen and disperse. Usually very few people are in the area. Only when there's a marriage will there be a lot of people, and the bridge becomes deserted again afterward.
WeiWei closes the shop and stands back up. She is getting ready to leave when she sees someone by the bridge calling out to her.
"LuWeiWeiWei"
WeiWei turns to face the gamer.
Next to the bridge grows a crooked willow tree. The gamer is standing under that willow. There's a slight breeze, and the willow branches lightly stir. The male character is dressed from head-to-toe in spotless white and carries a guqin. His sleeves float in the wind, giving him a natural and unrestrained appearance.
Wei Wei's eyes widen.
She isn't staring because the white-clothed male is very handsome (although it is true). This white-clothed instrument player character is a popular choice. Seeing it a lot makes you indifferent to it.
She stares because of the male's name.
YiXiaoNaiHe (WhatToDoButSmile).
The server's number one master, YiXiaoNaiHe.
In this game, to be known as the number one master doesn't just require a high level. He must have strong equipment, a fierce PK duelist, accurate player control, and most importantly has money.
That's why LuWeiWeiWei can't resist sending hearts and coins from her eyes when she saw YiXiaoNaiHe.
Great Master!
Idol!
Rich!
WeiWei runs down the bridge and sends a smiley emoji: "NaiHe, it's an honour to meet you. You called me?"
YiXiaoNaiHe replies with a "mm". Then the system prompts Wei Wei: YiXiaoNaiHe added you as a friend.
Wei Wei hurriedly accepts it and automatically adds YiXiaoNaiHe as her friend. YiXiaoHaiHe normally isn't so easy to add. Top level masters's friends lists are usually closed year round. WeiWei also sometimes closes her friend list when it's too full.
YiXiaoNaiHe instantly sends her her a message: "What do you think about the wedding?"
Wei Wei feels disgruntled. Did the Great Master just want to gossip? WeiWei diplomatically responds: "It was very grand."
YiXiaoNaiHe: "Then do you want an even grander wedding?"
Wei Wei is flabbergasted.
YiXiaoHaiHe: "Marry me."
Wei Wei thinks it's lucky she's not drinking water today. Otherwise the monitor will likely be sprayed again. Wei Wei moves her tea cup father away just in case and looks back at the screen.
On the screen, YiXiaoNaiHe is still quietly standing under the bridge, looking rather elegant and unaffected. Wei Wei looks for a while and then sends: "Great Master...did you get hacked =.="
YiXiaoNaiHe clearly doesn't like Wei Wei's humour and sends a rare "silent" emoji: "Did you see the latest news on the game's website? It's about the couple PK tournament."
WeiWei: "Hold on, I'm going to take a look"
Wei Wei opens the official website and immediately sees the large title, "Couple PK Tournament". She quickly skims the article and gets the general gist of it. Couple PK Tournament, as the name implies, is like the individual tournament but for couples. Couples who join will first duel on their own server. The top three couples will get a reward. Then the winning couple from each server will have a game-wide PK. The top three couples from that round will receive super good rewards. The rewards for first place is so good it makes Wei Wei drool three ft long.
WeiWei: "You want to marry me because of the PK tournament?"
YiXiaoNaiHe: "Mm."
WeiWei: "Huh, why me?"
YiXiaoNaiHe bluntly says: "You're the only one on the top PK list who is a female."
Wei Wei can't help but feel affected. This NaiHe is very strong; he's number one on the PK board and the richest player, his weapons and pets are on the god level. If she joined with him, the number one spot on the server will be at least half assured, but she married the first time for a quest. Would the second time be for PK?
Wei Wei can't help feeling disgruntled.
But that being said, if it isn't for a quest or for PK, why would she marry a complete stranger? And the rewards are so generous....
Wei Wei grits her teeth: "Let's do this!"
Once she made her decision, Wei Wei frankly says: "Come, let's team up and go to Yue Lao."
"Wait."
"Why?" Was her acceptance too frank and NaiHe instead was scared off? -.-
But it isn't what Wei Wei thinks. YiXiaoNaiHe says: "I have to prepare. Three days later, at eight."
Wei Wei is dumbfounded and rapidly types: "Prepare for what?"
"The marriage ceremony."
Wei Wei: "A notary is fine. We're marrying for the tournament. It doesn't need to be grand right?"
YiXiaoNaiHe: "No. I, YiXiaoNaiHe, can't have an informal wedding."
Wei Wei: "..."
Hi guys! Spores here!
I'm so glad I got this out in time. I was planning on learning the words for this chapter first, but that would mean delaying the postings. So I decided to just got ahead and release Ch 3 and learn the words later. Ch 4 is completely translated, so I'll be posting it next week as scheduled. Hopefully I'll learn those words by then ahahahaha......
As I thought, with the new job I won't be able to do two releases a week. It was hard enough to translate Ch 4 and that was with it already halfway translated before I started working. Then again, Ch 4 was very long. If I can get a good stockpile of about 8 or 10 chapters ahead of time, I will do two releases a week. However, it is very unlikely at this point, and with the holidays coming up, it's practically impossible.
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Please let me know what you think!
