Liang Xi Cheng's words were clearly directed toward Yan Liang. She wasn't an idiot. Of course she heard his implication.
He was belittling Bai Yan Liang for relaying on her connection with Liang Jing Shan to get into EC and the general manager's secretary position.
She was always never one to easily concede defeat. Especially right now in front of so many people, his words just now were like a heavy and ruthless slap. There was no quarter shown when it hit her. Yan Liang tightly clenched her hands by her sides. Her raised her head, lower jaw thrust out in defiance, "Chairman Liang, I admit my mistake, but nobody is perfect. It is human to make mistakes. I'm not arguing in my defense. I simply don't agree with what you just said. It seems like once a person makes a mistake, then it completely overrides their previous handwork."
Liang Xi Cheng had originally planned to get up and leave the conference room. However he didn't expect the woman across from him with a face filled with defiance to refute his words.
He abruptly narrowed his dark eyes. His movements to get up were subconsciously stilled.
