Chairman Husband, Too Boorish Ch 10: Humiliated in Public
Liang Xi Cheng's glance seemed easy-going, but actually it had a very oppressive force. From that one glance, Yan Liang instinctively stiffened her back. "Chairman Liang, I am the general manager's secretary. However I usually don't prepare these reports."
His slightly inquiring gaze moved away from her gaze. He quirked an eyebrow, "Indeed this isn't your job. Then at meetings when you usually give the performance report, do you carefully examine it for mistakes?"
His every question seemed pointed. Yan Liang was completely lost and didn't know what was wrong. However she clearly remembered finding a little bit of time to review the report after she finished it. Based on the numbers from Xiao Li, there wasn't any careless mistake whatsoever.
But now why was Liang Xi Cheng so targeted......
She took a deep breath and pursed her lips but still said, "Chairman Liang, I checked it all before the meeting. The numbers......"
"Are you sure?" Liang Xi Cheng's sharp eyebrows knitted together.
Yan Liang's heart sank. For a moment she was unexpectedly speechless.
She worked in the company for so many years. Although this was the first time talking to someone like Liang Xi Cheng, but now she was almost certain this aloof man always scrutinized this subject. Then she was positive there was a mistake while reporting the numbers.
"I apologize, Chairman Liang." She hurriedly thought it over but still said, "I'm not sure where problem is because the numbers in the report are based on data the marketing department sent."
"There's a serious error in the second data point for Spring. You didn't realize it was higher than Summer's by 20%? How long have you been working at EC? You even make these rudimentary mistakes?" Liang Xi Cheng had a severely insulting look in his eye. His tall body settled back into the spacious executive chair. He placed one hand on the table. His gaze swept over everyone in the meeting room. "I don't care how you worked before. From now on, you all have to follow my stipulations. If anyone still makes these basic mistakes, EC won't retain this kind of employee."
Everyone in the room let out a breath. Some looked at Yan Liang with resentment.
Clearly everything was going without a hitch, but she killed it halfway through. So now the entire meeting room got lectured.
"Secretary Bai!"
In the end, that sharp gaze stopped on Yan Liang's face. By now of course Yan Liang realized she made a huge mistake. Before she was focused on comparing the numbers, but she didn't even think to look at it from that angle. However now the situation was clear; it could only be Xiao Li's scheme, but she was being careless and fell for it. She couldn't blame anyone else. Now that she was being called out by Liang Xi Cheng, she paled and raised her head. Meeting his gaze, her heartbeat quickened. She hid her annoyance in her eyes. She was still cautious but in the end couldn't resist explaining.
"Chairman Liang, I'm very sorry for making such a basic mistake. Actually every employee in EC works conscientiously. Today was my mistake. No matter what kind of penalty you impose, I willingly accept."
However Liang Xi Cheng pretended not to hear. He merely narrowed his eyes, saying with ridicule, "What I want is work efficiency, not admitting mistake efficiency. I hope everyone sitting here remembers my words. Don't think because you got in due to your connections that you can get away with no consequence. I, Liang Xi Cheng, loathe these kind of people the most. Everyone got it?"

High key wished she threw the papers in his face and quit .
