Chairman Husband, Too Boorish Ch 4: Glorious New Chairman
"The new chairman is arriving next week."
"I know." Yan Liang didn't even lift her eyebrows. She kept her head down and hummed distractedly while pushing around what was in her bowl. She had no appetite.
Sitting across from Yan Liang was her good friend, Qin Zi Yin. She saw Yan Liang's absent-minded expression and waved her chopsticks in front of Yan Liang's face, "Hey, come back! What's up these past few days? You've been so out of it. You're constantly making mistakes at work. Did something happen?"
Yan Liang always took her job seriously. She is currently EC Group's manager's secretary. She is very efficient, but these past few days her friend, Qin Zi Yin, has already seen Yan Liang prepare the wrong documents for a meeting twice. This would have never happened in the past.
"Nothing." She shook her head, not in the mood to talk.
Jilted, betrayed by her best friend, and a one-night stand......these kinds of situations, how could she put them in words?
That unbelievable night already happened a week ago, but Ning Zhi Yuan was calling her non-stop, causing her nerves to be shot.
He slept around until even a baby came into the picture. What was the point of calling her?
Qin Zi Yin understood Yan Liang's mood. Since she didn't want to talk, then Zi Yin wouldn't push. She started a new topic, "By the way, do you know who the new chairman is?"
"Who is it?"
"It's Liang Xi Cheng!" Once she said the name, Qin Zi Yin became visibly excited. "The head of the board ordered it himself: Liang Xi Cheng will oversee our EC Group. That said, we're going to get some eye candy."
Liang Xi Cheng?
The corner of Yan Liang's mouth slightly drooped. Even the dried squid she was eating instantly tasted different.
How could she not know who Liang Xi Cheng is? It wasn't that he was an important figure in A-City, nor that his looks caused numerous women to fall head over heels in love. He was Liang Jing Shan's older brother. When she was in college with Jing Shan, she even met him two times. Now she remembered EC was the Liang family's company. Liang Xi Cheng coming to oversee was understandable.
"Why does it look like you don't care?" Seeing Yan Liang's uninterested expression, Qin Zi Yin couldn't help feeling disappointed. "Liang Xi Cheng. He's not your average guy. Do you know that? Right now every female in this company is going wild."
"You're wild too." Yan Liang raised an elegant eyebrow and interrupted Zi Yin. "I can tell you're excited. When the time comes, make sure you take a second look. Consider it as taking a look for me!"
Qin Zi Yin jokingly rolled her eyes. Just when she was about to say something, Yan Liang's cellphone she placed by her hand started to vibrate. She glanced down at the incoming phone number, and her expression changed.
"It's Zhi Yuan's number, so go ahead and go. I'm going to the bathroom." Qin Zi Yin still didn't know Yan Liang and Ning Zhi Yuan broke up. While talking, she stood up and started looking for the bathroom.
Yan Liang waited for Qin Zi Yin to leave before picking up the phone. She heard Ning Zhi Yuan eagerly call out, " Liang Liang [1], you finally picked up my call."
"Ning Zhi Yuan, from now on treat Jing Shan well." Yan Liang took a deep breath and serenely said, "I know everything now. I wish you two happiness. You also shouldn't call me anymore."
Not waiting for Ning Zhi Yuan to speak, Yan Liang hung up. She didn't get a chance to express her emotions when she lifted her head and saw Qin Zi Yin frantically barge through the restroom door.
"Yan Liang, Yan Liang! Hurry up and go back to work; the new chairman is here!"
